Nettle tea serving suggestionNettle Leaf Tea

Despite the suffering caused by accidentally brushing up against stinging nettle, careful harvesting and cooking renders the plant sting-free and suitable for human consumption. Aside from eating the tender greens, the most common preparation of stinging nettle is as an infused tea. Classified as a nutritive herb, the nettle leaf used in the tea contains vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients, with the amounts depending on the strength of the brew.

The most common vitamins found in stinging nettle tea include vitamins A and K. When it comes to minerals, the concoction contains boron, calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorous, potassium and strontium. Nettle leaf tea also yields phytonutrients, including beta-carotene, chlorophyll, quercetin, rutin, lutein and zeaxanthin.

When your body is combating a virus consider taking nettle tea as part of your resistance and resilience boosting measures.
