the six elements of Maharishi Vedic
Organic Agriculture
Ayurveda and Food
Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture is distinguished above all else by live
recitation of the Veda – the sounds of Nature – by Vedic Pandits
(traditional scholars), within range of the crops in the fields. This
produces food that has the maximum value of intelligence lively within it
and therefore has the maximum impact to create higher consciousness in the
individual.
There are six elements that function together to constitute the holistic
science and art of Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture. These are:
|
1.
|
By practicing
the Maharishi Vedic Technologies of Consciousness, the farmer rises
to Vedic Consciousness, spontaneously enlivening Natural Law in his
own awareness and in his environment. Rising to Vedic Consciousness
is the very heart of Vedic farming, because it enhances the Support
of Nature that can only be gained by living in tune with Natural
Law; |
|
2.
|
By engaging
the Vedic Pandits to recite the appropriate sections of Veda and the
Vedic Literature – the sounds of Natural Law itself – the farmer
directly enlivens the holistic and specific Laws of Nature
responsible for the growth of his crops; |
|
3.
|
By using
time-tested methods of Vedic organic farming from the Veda and the
Vedic Literature, Maharishi Vedic Farming methodologies aid soil
fertility, crop growth and vitality, disease prevention, pest
management, environmental management, and water management; |
|
4.
|
By utilising
all the revitalising, prevention-oriented, health-giving programmes
of the Maharishi Vedic Approach to Health, the farmer and his
family, and everyone working on the farm, can live a fully vital
life; |
|
5.
|
By
introducing Maharishi Vedic Education in schools, colleges, and
universities the farmer, the farm family, and the entire community
can enjoy development of total brain potential and the blossoming of
life in total knowledge, mastery of Natural Law, the ability to know
anything, accomplish anything, and enjoy anything in accord with
Natural Law; |
|
6.
|
By planning
and building in accordance with Maharishi Sthapatya Veda
architecture – Vedic architecture in harmony with Natural Law – the
farmer organises his farm layout and buildings to promote the
health, happiness and good fortune of everyone living and working
there. |
These are some of the many time-tested, cost-effective techniques from the
40 branches of Veda and the Vedic Literature that will help farmers provide
healthy natural food, while supporting the farmer’s own life and evolution,
and enriching the environment, the community, and the nation.
