Ayurveda massage for busy people and beginners

 

Here are three massages that only take a few minutes

 

1. Massage in the evening, especially when you are travelling

 

Vata Massage OilTry a simple massage with calming Vata Massage Oil. When Vata is out of balance the mind can be overactive - the last thing you need when all you want to do is to chill out for the evening after a busy day, or just get ready for bed and go to sleep. Vata Massage Oil helps to balance your Vata.

 

Just squeeze a little oil into the palm of your hand, rub it into the soles of your feet and let it soak in for a while. If you need to walk somewhere, put on some socks so you don’t get traces of oil on the carpet. If you’d like an additional calming effect, take a little bottle of Vata Aroma Oil and a Wall plug Aroma Diffuser with you when you travel, and plug the diffuser into your hotel room or bedroom electrical socket for an hour before you retire. The room will fill with a subtle and fragrant aroma that settles the atmosphere.

 

You can also massage the scalp

 

Massaging the scalp and hair is recommended to stimulate the scalp, nourish the hair roots and hair, relieve mental fatigue, help enhance mental clarity and focus and balance and nourish the emotions. Again, you can use Vata Massage oil for this. Best is to do both – feet and scalp. It only take a couple of minutes, and you feel better for doing it.

 

2. Massage for better sleep

The massage for sleep restores balance and aids the process of getting an adequate rejuvenating rest. This massage is performed on the peripheral parts of the body to improve circulation and relax the mind and body.

How to do the Sleep massage

 

Apply the massage oil to the lower arms, hands, lower legs and feet a few minutes before bed. Pay especial attention to the soles of the feet and the base of the nails on both hands and feet. Pat off any excess oil and retire!

3. Dry massage – Garshana - stimulating

Garshana massage is reported to gradually help break down fat deposits by enhancing blood and lymphatic circulation. Ayurveda recommends this massage in order to stimulate and improve the circulation in the connective tissue – especially to eliminate Ama (impurities) and to reduce sluggishness.

 

Garshana massage also helps to clean and exfoliate the skin, making it more receptive to herbs and therapeutic oils.

 

How to do Garshana massage

 

Wearing high quality raw silk gloves, available especially for the Garshana massage, use light vigorous strokes. Garshana massage can be done every day, ideally in the morning.
