The Maharishi World Centre of Gandharva Veda proudly presents one of the greatest exponents of Maharishi Gandharva Veda music-Professor Devabrata Chaudhuri. Professor Chaudhuri is not only a respected teacher with 33 years of experience at Delhi University, but also a top-ranked sitar maestro who has been performing for the last 40 years. In 1992 Professor Chaudhuri received from the President of India the coveted Padmabhushan award for excellence in music. Professor Chaudhuri has maintained the purity and tradition of India's age-old Vedic music passed on to him from an unbroken line of eight generations of sitar players.

Professor Chaudhuri is currently Dean of the Colleges of Gandharva Veda at Maharishi Vedic University in Holland, the United States, and India. He is also a Visiting Professor at Maharishi International University, Fairfield, Iowa, U.S.A. Professor Chaudhuri is the author of two books on music and has published many papers worldwide. Maharishi Mahesh Yogi has awarded Professor Chaudhuri the title of Sangit Churamani, "one who has reached perfection in music."
