    Tridosha Tea

    Tridosha Tea

    £4.65

A tasty tea that balances all three doshas. Especially good as a cooling tea in summer.

It has a broad balancing effect on all three of the basic elements of the mind/body and supports the immune system. Ayurveda see the basic element of the mind/body as: information flow (in Ayurveda called Vata), digestion/transformation (Pitta) and structure/fluid balance (Kapha).

Brahmi and Aloeweed help to optimise alertness and intellectual functions. Cardamom supports digestion and balances Vata. Ginger, Arjuna, Holy basil, Cinnamon etc. are not only refreshing but also modulate the immune system. Ginger and Holy basil balance Pitta and help maintain freedom from allergies. Arjuna and Cinnamon support the heart and help balance Pitta and Kapha. They also help to maintain normal cholesterol level.

The first line of immune defense is enlivened by Indian Madder and Red Sanders.

    20 bags of 1.7 grams.

    Organic Mung Dal

    Mung Dal
Mung Dal (also known as moong dahl) is got from green mung beans by splitting them at the time of harvest and discarding the skins. Mung dal is held to have a balancing effect on all three doshas. It is easier to digest than most other beans and dhals and can be eaten everyday. When properly cooked the mung beans have broken up and have the consistency of porridge.

For vegetarians, beans, dahl's and lentils constitute an important source of nutrition - they provide protein, complex carbohydrates, fibre and vitamins. As versatile as they are tasty, dahl's and lentils lend themselves to being used to make salads, appetizers, soups, main dishes, sides and even dessert. They work well with other foods such as grains, vegetables, herbs and spices.

    Cooking & Handling tips
Rinse several times before cooking. As they get older pulses tend to loose moisture and require to be soaked before cooking or to be cooked for longer. Do not add salt or acidic ingredients like tomatoes or lemon juice until he pulses are cooked. Add spices such as cumin, fresh coriander, black pepper and ginger to help digestion and assimilation of the nutrients.
