Veda and Vedic Literature

Maharishi explains that every aspect of life in the universe is an expression of the Veda and Vedic Literature. On the basis of Dr. Tony Nader's' recent discoveries published in his book Human Physiology - Expression of the Veda and Vedic Literature, it is clear that the appropriate aspect of the Vedic Literature can enliven the corresponding perfect sequence of expression of Natural Law, as it is seen in the structure and functioning of every aspect of the mind and body of a perfectly health person.

But it is also clear that plants and herbs exist in all parts of the world, whose structure corresponds at a profound level to all the different aspects of the structure and functioning of the human physiology. This is the basis for the remarkable knowledge and application of herbs and plants in Maharishi Ayurveda: these herbs, and more importantly their appropriate combinations, can help to re-establish correct structure and function throughout the physiology.

This profound approach contrasts with the inadequacy of the relatively superficial approach of modern medicine which uses synthetic variants of the so-called "active ingredients" in traditional plant-based medicines. Only the whole plant contains the expressed value of the correct sequence of Natural Laws appropriate to strengthening a particular aspect of human physiology.

It is also apparent that only a science capable of operating from the deepest level of Natural Law can produce remedies and medicines that really work reliably and are free from harmful side-effects. The detailed knowledge of the health-promoting properties of herbs is contained in several works of the Vedic literature specifically relating to health, notably those attributed to three of the greatest exponents of Ayurveda in ancient Vedic times: Charaka, Sushruta, and Vagbhatt.
