Pure Knowledge Pressed into Form
This is how Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, founder of Maharishi Ayurveda, described the two herbal formulas of Maharishi Amrit Kalash when they were first produced in 1986. His description is the key to understanding the herbal preparations used in Maharishi Ayurveda, Maharishi's Vedic Approach to Health.
Maharishi has explained that matter arises from pure consciousness, it is the physical expression of pure consciousness. The process is minutely described in Vedic texts, and in the terminology of modem quantum physics is the process of physical creation arising from the Unified Field.
When awareness of pure consciousness is lost, then a lively connection is not maintained between the source of life and its surface values, inevitably the individual violates Natural Law and thereby so the seeds of problems and ill-health. Ayurveda, the Vedic science of natural medicine, is one of the Upavedas, or subsidiary Vedas, the role of which is to restore this connection.
A lively connection is naturally restored by re-establishing the balanced structure and functioning of every aspect of mind and body, allowing the individual to reflect the perfect sequence of expression of Natural Law from the Unified Field to the surface level of life. The most direct and powerful means to establish this balanced functioning is through Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi programme. But Maharishi's Vedic Approach to Health also uses the expressions of pure knowledge in all the 40 aspects of the Vedic Literature to accelerate the growth of the individual and society towards enlightenment and perfect health.
